We want to provide you with an important update regarding the recent posting of applications for the Board of Managers by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). It is crucial to understand that despite this development, the democratically elected Board remains in place until the appeal process is completed. During this time, the Board and Administration are dedicated to serving our community and prioritizing the needs of our students.
While the TEA has initiated the process of appointing a Board of Managers, it is important to emphasize that the final decision rests upon the completion of the appeal process. Until then, our elected Board members continue to work diligently to ensure the smooth functioning of our District and the welfare of our students.
We want to assure you that the Board members are fully committed to their responsibilities. They are actively engaged in making decisions that positively impact our educational system, prioritizing student needs, and striving for excellence in all aspects of education within La Joya ISD.

Below, you will find a list of items that parents will still need to provide at the beginning of the school year. Please keep in mind that you may need to replenish these supplies as necessary.

As part of our commitment to becoming student focused, data-driven and results oriented, our district is engaged in the Strong Foundation Literacy Grant in partnership with our technical advisor, Ms. Kara Belew. This initiative aims to support our school district in creating, adopting, and implementing a comprehensive Reading and Language Arts (RLA) District Framework for students in grades PK-12.
In alignment with our focus on supporting teachers and staff, the grant program includes provisions to ensure that our teachers receive the necessary support and resources to effectively implement the RLA District Framework. We understand that successful implementation requires a collaborative effort and ongoing support for our educators.
Our commitment is to continuous improvement and ongoing support. Through collaboration, communication, and professional growth, we aim to empower educators to meet the needs of every student in our district.
