Jose de Escandon STEM Initiates NEHS Members
Jose de Escandon S.T.E.M. Elementary School was the first school in La Joya ISD to have an active charter of the National Elementary Honor Society. Today, October 21, 2021, Jose de Escandon S.T.E.M. has virtually inducted their third group of NEHS members. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of academic excellence and responsibility. The ceremony was officiated by the honorable Judge Nereida Lopez-Singleterry.
The Fifth grade students inducted were: Joselyn Rivera Amado, Stuart Benoit, Kimberly Camos, Alfredo Ayden Guerra, Leilani A. Hernandez, Anasofia Nacianceno, Allan Macias, David Mendiola, Elizandro Morin, Jose Puentes Jr., Antonio Salinas jr., Ryan Oscar Sepulveda, Dulce Fernanda Torres, and Camila Vela.
The Jose de Escandon S.T.E.M Elementary School chapter is a new chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society. The chapter will participates in service projects for the school and community throughout the school year.
The National Elementary Honor Society was established in 2008 to recognize outstanding elementary level students. The organization is a program of the National Association of Secondary School Principals in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals Foundation.
